Lowdown: A former walk-on at both East Carolina (and Marshall before that), Williams earned all-conference honors (American Athletic) in all three seasons with the Pirates, culminating with a first-team selection in 2015, when he made 58 catches for 588 yards and four touchdowns. Had a nine-catch game against Florida – a good sign against SEC competition. … He played fullback as a sophomore and junior. … Can make tough catches in traffic and uses his size to his advantage, especially in the red zone on jump balls. … Not a refined route runner and despite his ideal height, is somewhat lean and not an overly physical blocker. He did work on that by adding 13 pounds before last season, however, and by all accounts carried it well.

They said it: “Williams is a long, rangy pass catcher with sneaky route running skills. He has a knack for creating separation between the hashes.” – NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks
