JEFF THE BROTHERHOOD heads double bill at Studio at Waiting Rom

Nashville-bred garage acts JEFF THE BROTHERHOOD and Diarrhea Planet will be teaming up for a show on May 7 at Studio at Waiting Room (334 Delaware Ave.).

Formed in 2001 by brothers Jake and Jamin Orrall, JEFF delivers raucous and enthusiastic power-pop with shades of psych. After years of releasing a handful of records on its self-run Infinity Cat Recordings, the band would team up with the Black Keys' Dan Auerbauch to produce its major label debut "Hypnotic Nights" on Warner Brothers in 2012. Following a nasty break up with WB, the band would return in 2015 to once again self-release its latest record, the heavy-on-the-psych-rock-jams "Global Chakra Rhythms." While no new music has been released this year, the Orralls have teased that a new album is in the works.

Opening for JEFF THE BROTHERHOOD will be fellow Music City musicians, Diarrhea Planet. The six-piece guitar assault already has two ripping performances at Mohawk Place under its belt, one of which saw the group deliver one of the least ironic covers of Third Eye Blind's "Semi Charmed Life" known to man. The band will be releasing its new record "Turn to Pass" in June and has already shared the album's blast of a new single, "Life Pass," so expect a healthy dose of new material at the May gig.

Tickets will go on sale for $15-$17 at noon April 6 (box office, Ticketfly).
