LOCKPORT – A Niagara Falls man pleaded guilty Tuesday in State Supreme Court to stealing money from the occupant of an apartment in that city last year.
Joseph P. Tarapczynski, 31, of 25th Street, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree burglary in connection with the Feb. 26, 2015, crime on Third Street. He must pay $240 in restitution, Assistant District Attorney Kevin D. Canali said.
Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. scheduled sentencing for June 30, when he could send Tarapczynski to prison for as long as seven years. In the meantime, defense attorney James J. Faso Jr. said, Tarapczynski is headed for an inpatient drug treatment facility.
