$90,000 house fire leaves at least one adult homeless

A house fire Tuesday night in the First Ward of South Buffalo left at least one adult homeless and caused an estimated $90,000 in damage, according to the Buffalo Fire Department alarm office.

The blaze broke out around 7:45 p.m. on the first floor of a 2 1/2 story occupied house at 130 Vincennes St., fire officials said.

Firefighters arriving at the scene reported that the occupants were safely out of the house as the fire spread to the structure’s second floor.

First responders remained on the scene for nearly two hours, according to fire dispatchers.

The Red Cross was called to assist one adult in need of emergency shelter.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
