14 charged with having fake IDs at Niagara Falls bar

NIAGARA FALLS – Fourteen people were charged with possession of fake driver’s licenses at a Main Street bar last week, authorities announced.

The Department of Motor Vehicles, along with the State Liquor Authority and Niagara Falls police, conducted a sweep Thursday at Karma Lounge, 2109 Main.

An undercover officer from the liquor authority observed alcohol sales to underage patrons and the use of fraudulent identification, the department said.

Authorities from all three agencies entered the bar and checked all patrons for identification. Of the confiscated licenses, three were from Pennsylvania and Connecticut, two were from Delaware and New Jersey, and one of each were from New York, Illinois, Maine and Colorado.

The Falls sweep was one of four conducted statewide between Thursday and Saturday, the DMV said.
