It’s illogical to compare churches with stadium
In regard to the reverend’s comments in a recent letter as to the cost of our worship sites: Yes, a new stadium would come at a cost from the public or private sector or the new owners, unlike the Catholic Diocese, which is totally built from contributions from its congregation. But the stadium would generate jobs, revenue and tax dollars, unlike all the churches in the area. Even the churches that are closed can’t be sold because there are limitations to what they can be used for. Oh yes, they are tax exempt, too.
Sorry, but they’re just buildings and property. Why should I have to pay taxes if I don’t go to your church? I’d gladly pay them to watch a Bills game.
