Ronald H. Golding, operated family’s trucking, warehousing operations in Lockport

Jan. 21, 1941 – March 27, 2016

LOCKPORT – Ronald H. Golding of Lockport, who owned and operated trucking and warehousing companies, died Sunday in Erie County Medical Center after a short illness. He was 75.

Born in Lockport, he was a graduate of Royalton-Hartland High School and served in the Army stateside from 1963 to 1965 as a truck driver.

He assisted in his family’s trucking and warehousing business and became president of George H. Golding Trucking Inc., Lock City Trucking and Lock City Leasing upon his father’s retirement in 1986. He retired in 2000. The companies now are operated by his son, Mark.

He enjoyed fishing, golf, bowling and boating. He also had a prize-winning show truck, a Kenworth W-9.

In addition to his son, survivors include his wife of 51 years, the former Eileen Trautman; a daughter, Michelle Ababurko; and three grandchildren.

Services will be private.
