The Erie County Mental Health Association’s Writing and Well-Being Workshop will showcase its poetry and prose at a community meeting Thursday evening.
The event will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Talking Leaves Bookstore, 3158 Main St.
Readings will be done by those from the Self-Discovery Center at Buffalo Psychiatric Center the Restoration Society’s Englewood Drop-in Center.

The Writing and Well-Being Workshop has united those with mental health conditions for 22 years. The workshop embraces beginning artists who may be writing for the first time, as well as more-seasoned veterans. The group provides a forum for writers to express themselves in a safe environment; 95 percent of participants say it helps them in their recovery.
