BASKETBALL: Tryouts for the PAL/ACE showcase will be April 5 at Niagara Falls high school starting at 5 p.m. for sophmores and freshmen and 6:30 p.m. for juniors and seniors, who have played varsity this past season. Games will be played April 7th. Contact Sal, 228-7916 for more info....Team Upstate New York Boys’ 12U Travel team tryouts is Saturday, 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Buffalo State College. Cost is $15. FOOTBALL: The Buffalo Gladiators will have open tryouts this Saturday, 11 a.m. at the corner of Carolina and 4th Streets, downtown Buffalo. For more info, call 479-3572....The Lockport Thunder indoor team open tryouts are Thursday 8:15 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. at Sahlen’s Sports Center, 7070 Seneca St., Elma. Registration is $25. GOLF: The Friends of WNY Volleyball will host their Third Annual Golf Tournament Sunday, July 31st at the Buffalo Tournament Club. All money raised goes toward college scholarships for volleyball players throughout Western New York. Cost is $80 per person and includes lunch and a steak dinner. TENNIS: The Town of Hamburg Department of Youth, Recreation and Senior Services will hold Tennis Club for boys and girls starting April 13th, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Town of Hamburg Community Center, 4540 Southwestern Boulevard. The eight-week program focuses on instruction for beginners. Cost is $10 or $20 for those who need a racquet.
