YMCA of Buffalo Niagara made the following staff announcements: Douglas Tay was named membership coordinator at the Independent Health Family Branch; Jessie Bari was appointed a program director at the Southtowns Branch; Catherine O’Brien was promoted to membership director at the Southtowns YMCA; Shelly Cavalier was promoted to wellness director at the Southtowns Branch; Jillian Pawlowski was named a program director at the Southtowns Branch; and Penny Jensen was named full-time office clerk at the Southtowns branch.


Les Robinson, a long-term care educator, joined the 3in4 Association. The group seeks to educate the public on an important fact that at least 70 percent (roughly 3 in 4) of people over age 65 will require some long-term care services at some point in their lives, according to a statement from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
