New Madrid, Mishka Shubaly added to Leopard Lounge's spring schedule

Since opening its door in early March, the Leopard Lounge, the intimate front room within Town Ballroom, has wasted no time in breaking in its new stage. The space has just announced two new shows to be added to its growing schedule: New Madrid on April 21 followed by Mishka Shubaly on May 12.

The Athens-based New Madrid will be on the road in support of its forthcoming new album "magnetkingmagnetqueen," set to be released through upstart label, Normaltown Records. The indie rockers specialize in a southern version of college rock, featuring jangly guitars, reverb drenched melodies, twangy vocals and a touch of art-rock rhythms.

Shublay, the gritty Canadia-born songwriter, released his long-awaited new record "Coward's Path" last year. The road-weary musician, who over the years has been compared to the likes of Tom Waits and Leonard Cohen, has received acclaim for his honest portrayal of addiction and road to sobriety in his most recent release.

Tickets for both shows are currently available for $10-$12 (box office, Ticketfly).
