Feds charge man from Puerto Rico with drug dealing

A resident of Puerto Rico has been charged in Buffalo federal court with selling cocaine in the city.

Omar Aponte Vellon, 29, is accused of receiving a package containing a half kilogram of cocaine from Puerto Rico earlier this month.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Wei Xiang, said the package was one of two shipped to a residence on the East Side and intercepted by law enforcement.

The charges against Vellon are the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the United States Postal Inspection Service.
