The fourth annual Spring It On online 24-hour fundraising campaign has generated $131,784 to benefit 175 Western New York non-profit organizations, the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County reports.
The organizations included agencies in arts and culture, health and human services, animal protection, the environment and religion. The top fundraisers included the International Institute of Buffalo, $15,000; Cradle Beach, $6,208 and New Life Residential, $5,467.
The fundraiser began at 8 a.m. last Thursday and ended at 8 a.m. Friday under auspices of the United Way, but donors who missed it can still contribute to the non-profits through their Spring It On profile pages at springiton.org. The site will accept donations through Friday.
