Lowdown: Having been a three-year starter in a complex, pro-style offense, he might be the most NFL-ready quarterback prospect in the draft. … Excels at reading defenses and consistently makes good decisions with where to go with the ball. … Impressive athleticism allows him to make plays as a runner and while throwing on the run. … Strong arm, shows good accuracy on short and deep throws. … Biggest drawback is a long windup in his delivery that makes for a slow release, which figures to be a much larger problem against NFL defenders who are faster and do a far better job of anticipating throws. … Scouts love the toughness he displays with his willingness to hang in the pocket until the last possible moment and take a hit. … Demonstrates excellent leadership.

They said it: “He’s probably the most ready, intellectually, of any of those quarterbacks. He’s probably as close to what you’re going to see in the NFL as any of them. He’s going to come in and pick it up very quickly.” – NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock
