Can’t we make bags that are biodegradable?
After reading about the proposal to end the use of plastic bags for shopping, I have a few thoughts on this matter. Most people love the idea of being able to carry their bags with a handle instead of trying to carry a bag or two in their arms, as one would carry an infant. If something were to spill or leak with a paper bag, they would be very annoyed with an accident of this nature.
Why not use a plastic bag of biodegradable material that would decompose after it is tossed out after use? Plus, the bags would serve a double purpose. People could use them to clean up after their pets while walking, rather than leaving the mess behind for someone to accidently walk in the dog’s waste.
