FRITSCH, Thomas J.

FRITSCH - Thomas J. Age 69, died at the Bailey Center in St. Augustine, Florida March 20, 2016 due to liver cancer. Tom was born to Thomas and Rita Fritsch in Buffalo, NY. He graduated from Canisius High School and attended Xavier University where he played football on a four year athletic scholarship. He went on to graduate from Canisius College with a Bachelor's Degree and then to the University of Chicago where he earned his MBA. Tom worked for many years with the United States Postal Service where he served as Assistant Postmaster General for Labor Relations and as Postmaster General of Western New York. Among his professional accomplishments was heading up the 1987 labor contract negotiations for the largest labor contract in the country. Following his postal career, Tom served as a Labor Arbitrator and rendered over one thousand labor-management decisions. Tom was listed in Who's Who in America for his professional accomplishments. Tom and his wife Jo Ann also owned and operated the "Linda Lee" Bed & Breakfast in Cape May, New Jersey for several years. Tom loved to cook and went on to attend Culinary School where he was a star student. Tom is survived by his beloved wife Jo Ann Fritsch and his dog Jack, Sister: Sandra (Thomas) Poyer, Uncle: Jack (Delores) Fritsch, Brother-in-Law: E.J. (Lisa) Toal, and nieces and nephews: Anthony (Lauren) Toal, Dana (Erick) Coxe, and their children Haven and Sydney; Amanda (Stephen) Slish and their children Matthew and Mason, and Jennifer Poyer and her son Jaxson, as well as many other family members. The family is planning a celebration of Tom's life at a future date. Contributions in Tom's memory should be directed to the Wildflower Clinic in St. Augustine, Florida. Online
