Judge was too lenient with drunken drivers
I am not a drinker, but if I was arrested for drunken driving, I certainly know who I’d want to be judge in my trial: State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr.
A man who was in court for his sixth – yes, sixth – alcohol-related conviction with a second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle was given only seven days in jail, and a mere $2,430 in fines and fees and a one-year conditional discharge.
In another case, on the same day, a woman who pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated with her 6-year-old daughter in the car, received a conditional discharge with no jail time and only $930 in fines and fees.
It is no wonder that there are so many drunks on the road. Shame on you, sir.
