Stop playing games and confirm Garland
By all accounts, Merrick Garland is a well-respected, middle-of-the-road judge well-suited for the Supreme Court of the United States.
By not even bringing a vote to the floor, the Republicans risk getting a liberal ideologue nominated and appointed if they don’t win the White House and keep the Senate, which seems ever more likely.
If the Republican-dominated Congress waits until after the election in November to vote on President Obama’s choice, they may not get Garland as the nominee but the president-elect’s choice.
So, I would say to the Republican Party, “Get, while the getting is good” and stop the silly political games.
