Gertrude M. Klemowski, who volunteered with the Salvation Army for half a century, died Tuesday in McAuley Residence in Kenmore. She was 92.
She was a lifelong resident of Buffalo and married Larry Klemowski in 1944.
Mrs. Klemowski joined the Salvation Army in the late 1960s.
She served as corps treasurer, sunbeam leader, Sunday school teacher and Christmas kettle worker, volunteered for the League of Mercy and was a member of the Home League.
She also served as den mother for Cub Scouts Pack 406 and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
She was the recipient of the Salvation Army Silver Star Mother Award when her son was commissioned as an officer/captain.
Mrs. Klemowski was preceded in death by her husband, Fred.
She is survived by her son, James F.; a sister, Betty Babcock; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Greco Funeral Home, 2909 Elmwood Ave., Kenmore.
