Winter weather advisory for Buffalo

The calendar may say it’s spring, but the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Buffalo area.

The advisory, in effect at 5 p.m. Wednesday through 9 a.m. Thursday, says Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Batavia and Medina residents should be prepared for freezing rain and sleet.

Ice of about a quarter of an inch could accumulate during the overnight hours Wednesday into Thursday. Untreated roadways, sidewalks, parking lots and bridges could become very slippery.
