Catholic Charities appeal slightly behind last year’s fundraising pace

Catholic Charities of Buffalo has raised more than $8 million towards its fundraising goal this year, the organization announced Tuesday.

The funds raised represent 73 percent of the goal, a pace slightly behind last year when, after Appeal Week, 78.4 percent of the goal had been raised.

The appeal supports 70 programs and services across the eight Western New York counties.

The campaign, whose goal is $11 million, runs through June 30. More than $6.5 million was raised in the opening weekend.
