Morning Skate Report: Eichel back in the lineup

RALEIGH -- When last the Buffalo Sabres and Carolina Hurricanes met, Evander Kane was flipping the puck high and down the ice to a streaking Jack Eichel who finished the play with seconds left for a 3-2 overtime win.

With Eichel back in the lineup, you never know what kind of theatrics the rookie may put on this time.

Eichel was at morning skate in PNC Arena and will be back in the lineup Tuesday night after missing a game due to illness.

So, what was it the flu?

"I don’t even know what it was," Eichel said. "It could have been a few things."

"I mean when you go through something like that it takes a few days to kinda get back to where you want to be," Eichel said. "I’m happy to be back with the guys. It’s much better to be in the locker room and go on the ice and things like that then to be out of the lineup. We’ll see tonight but I'm just trying to do the right things to prepare myself for the game."

Dan Bylsma said Chad Johnson will be in net for the Sabres.
