Gunshot fired during claw-hammer attack in Allegany County

WILLING – A man hit with a claw hammer fired a gun at another man during an altercation Sunday in Allegany County.

The fighting began at about 3:30 a.m. when one of the men returned a female resident home to an address on State Route 248, according to State Police.

Rickie A. Moulstrup, 38, of Alma was charged with second-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon after police say he used a claw hammer to hit a vehicle and to strike Brian J. Black, 41, of Willing, police said.

Black then fired a pistol at Moulstrup, and the shot hit the windshield of a vehicle. He was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Both men were arraigned in Willing Town Court and remanded to the Allegany County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. Orders of protection were also issued.
