Anna LoVullo, who owned and operated a hardware store with her husband on Buffalo’s West Side, died Saturday in Hospice Buffalo, Cheektowaga. She was 102.
Born in Buffalo, the former Anna Schiavo attended Buffalo schools through sixth grade and worked for Gioia Macaroni before she became a homemaker in 1939.
Mrs. LoVullo and her husband, Anthony, operated West Utica Hardware at West Utica and Rhode Island streets for nearly 50 years.
She enjoyed gardening, bowling, crocheting, cooking and baking.
For many years, she hosted an annual St. Joseph’s Day celebration for scores of family and friends in her West Side home.
Her husband of 63 years, Anthony, died in 2002.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann; a brother, Salvatore Schiavo; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1085 Englewood Ave., Town of Tonawanda.
