DWI, drug charges lodged in Cheektowaga traffic stop

A Buffalo man was charged with driving while intoxicated and a passsenger in his vehicle faces drug charges following a traffic stop about 3:45 a.m. Saturday on French Road in Cheektowaga.

The driver, Robert Johnson, 27, posted a .10 percent blood-alcohol level, according to State Police based at Clarence..

The passenger, Gary Barwick, 29, of Buffalo was in possession of alprazolam pills and marijuana and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana, police added.

Both were released on appearance tickets returnable to Town of Cheektowaga Court.
