Bailey Boys gang member gets stiff prison term for shooting

Deon “Slick” Allen, 21, of Buffalo, a member of the Bailey Boys street gang, was ordered by Senior U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny on Thursday to serve a 10-year federal prison term for his role in the drive-by shooting of three persons on Shirley Avenue five years ago.

Allen, convicted of committing a violent crime in aid of a racketeering enterprise, was also ordered by the judge to pay $20,529.91 to Independent Health, Univera Health and the federal Medicaid program for the medical bills wracked up by the three shooting victims. Assistant U.S. Attorney Anthony M. Bruce and Assistant Erie County District Attorney Paul Parisi who is working as a special assistant U.S. attorney, said Allen took part in the drive-by shooting of the three victims in the 200 block of Shirley Avenue on July 29, 2011.
