Fundraiser to benefit pageant coordinator and day-care owner

NORTH TONAWANDA – Friends of North Tonawanda mother and community leader Kathleen Sarzyniak Warriner will hold a dinner-dance/auction fundraiser to support her continued medical costs in her battle with breast cancer from 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday in Stephen J. Sikora American Legion Post, 1322 Payne Ave.

Warriner, 47, was diagnosed with breast cancer in August and underwent a double mastectomy. She recently finished phase one of her chemotherapy and faces other treatment and reconstructive surgery.

She is state director of the USA National Miss New York/ Pennsylvania, Ohio and founder of the Toys for Tots Pageant, which collected 4,000 toys last year. She also founded the National Princess in Training Foundation to teach children compassion and good will. Warriner is owner of Shining Stars Daycare, Amherst.

She and her husband of 25 years, Ralph, have three children.

Saturday’s fundraiser will offer several large-ticket items, as well as a basket raffle. More information about the event is available at at “Gala for Kathy.”
