16-year-old charged with punching another student in classroom

ASHEVILLE – A 16-year-old was charged with disorderly conduct after he punched another BOCES student in the face while in a classroom, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said.

The incident happened around 8:35 a.m. Feb. 24 in the E building of Hewes Education Center at Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Board of Cooperative Educational Services on North Maple Avenue.

The 16-year-old, who lives in Little Valley, was instructed to leave by school staff. He was later issued an appearance ticket, the sheriff’s office said.
