Niagara USA Chamber sets annual gala

NIAGARA FALLS – The Niagara USA Chamber will hold its annual Chamber Honors Gala Friday at the Seneca Niagara Casino and Hotel Event Center.

The annual dinner recognizes businesses and business leaders that have made a positive impact on the Niagara region.

This year’s honorees include:

• Frank Strangio was named Business Person of the Year. Strangio is the owner of two hotels, the Quality Inn and Wingate by Wyndham. He left his role as chairman of the Niagara Tourism and Convention Corp. after serving two four-year terms and was recently named a member of the New York State Hospitality and Tourism Association Board.

• Clothes Mentor/Plato’s Closet has been named Business of the Year.

• Fichte Endl and Elmer Eyecare will receive the Groundbreaking Award.

• Becker Farms and Vizcarra Vineyards will be presented with the Industry Insider award.

• Catherine Braniecki will receive the Father L. Levesque Award for Community Advocacy.

• North American Hoganas will get the Green Manufacturing Award, sponsored by National Grid.

The event begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception followed by a sit-down dinner and the award ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $125 for members, $150 for nonmembers.
