WEISS, Pauline Elizabeth (Nowak)

WEISS - Pauline Elizabeth (nee Nowak) Age 90, of Edgewater, died Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Southeast Volusia Hospice Care Center, Edgewater. Pauline was born in Buffalo, NY, the youngest of seven children. She grew up in a musical environment; a piano the focal point of the living room, her father the choir director and organist at St. Luke's Church on Walden Avenue, and her brothers and sisters all musically talented. Pauline had a beautiful alto voice and eventually instilled the love of music in her own children. Pauline graduated from East High School and then from Buffalo State Teachers College. She taught elementary school for a short time, but most of her working years were dedicated entirely to her children, and the love of her life and husband of 66 years, Wally. Polly and Wally were as devoted to each other as much as any two people could be. As loving parents, they were together at concerts and baseball games; they were a formidable team at Sheridan Lanes and later at New Smyrna Lanes; in retirement they travelled extensively to visit family and friends; and finally they took loving care of each other late in life. Pauline enjoyed reading and left time every night for her bible. Survivors include one son, William W. (Maria) Weiss of Franklin, MA; one daughter, Anne (Lee) Cevasco of Edgewater and seven grandchildren, Samantha, Catherine, Benjamin, Daniel, Curtis, Dawson and Alexis.
