Women’s History Month program to honor leaders, students

An organization called Unlimited Possibilities Overcoming Poverty will honor 65 Western New York women from various professions and communities as part of Women’s History Month.

The annual program will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday March 19 at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, 153 Franklin St.

This year’s theme is “Touching the World.”

Ten students who are enrolled in college will be awarded $1,000 scholarships.

In addition to the 65 women being honored, a Humanitarian Living Legacy Award will be given to honor someone for community service.

Proceeds from the event will support college-bound students from an impoverished background who will be enrolled in college or trade school by 2016.
