Town of Niagara burglar goes to state prison

LOCKPORT – A Town of Niagara man who took part in a warehouse burglary was sentenced Friday to one to three years in state prison by State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr.

Garrett M. Schinabeck, 32, of Rhode Island Avenue, had pleaded guilty to attempted third-degree burglary for his role in an Aug. 4, 2014, break-in at Ashland Advanced Materials in the Town of Niagara. Kloch ordered that Schinabeck must pay $2,500 in restitution after he is released from prison.

A co-defendant in the case, Bryan Harvey, 28, of 59th Street, Niagara Falls, also pleaded guilty and was placed on five years’ probation last November.
