Boiler problem prompts Le Roy school to close for second day

Le ROY – Le Roy School District administrators say a bad smell caused by ongoing problems in the boiler room has forced the closing of the Junior-Senior High School for the second straight day.

Students were permitted to enter the building on South Street Road Friday morning to pick up books and other items.

They initially were sent home on Thursday morning and now will have a long weekend. High School Principal Timothy McArdle reportedly said that maintenance personnel authorized limited access to the building.

The district’s elementary school in the village was not affected.
