Lockport motorcyclist dies in Niagara Falls crash

NIAGARA FALLS – A Lockport motorcyclist died in a two-vehicle crash on Highland Avenue on Monday night.

The 39-year-old was driving his motorcycle south on Highland at about 8:45 p.m. when he struck a car headed north which started making a left turn onto Profit Lane. The motorcyclist was ejected from his bike, police said.

The crash happened on Highland between College and Beech avenues.

The Lockport man was riding a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle and the other vehicle, a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria, was driven by a 31-year-old Niagara Falls man, police said.

The man, whose name was not released, was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

A section of Highland was closed until about 12:30 a.m., police said.

The police department’s Crash Management Team is investigating the crash.
