Instrumental rockers Delicate Steve to play Nietzsche's

Last seen in Buffalo performing a 15-minute cover of Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" with slacker clown prince Mac DeMarco, instrumental act Delicate Steve is set to return to town for a show at 9 p.m. March 12 in Nietzsche's (248 Allen St.).

The experimental rock project of New Jersey musician Steve Marion premiered in 2011 with the carefree album "Wondervisions" on David Byrne's Luaka Bop record label. With eclectic world beats and rhythms blending with textured pop compositions, the group's mainly improvised style of play conjures up the likes of The Dirty Projectors, Animal Collective and even label boss Byrne's The Talking Heads.

Joining Delicate Steve on the rather full bill will be a trio of local acts: space rockers Aircraft, garage-pop trio The Tins and Mom Said No.

Tickets are available for $10-$13 (door, Ticketfly). Further event info can be found here.
