Joseph L. Fiegl, Erie County’s deputy commissioner for environment and planning, has been tapped as president of the New York Water Environment Association, the statewide organization announced Monday.
Feigl, 37, was installed at the organization’s annual meeting last month in New York City.
The association is a non-profit group made up of water quality managers from across New York State.
Fiegl, in his county duties, oversees Erie County’s sewer districts, including its seven wastewater treatment plants.
The Northwestern University graduate in environmental and civil engineering was a member of the water association’s board of directors for the past five years before being named its president.
