Driver taken to hospital after crashing into Main Street restaurant

A 40-year-old driver who crashed into the corner of Tony’s Ranch House restaurant on Main Street at Dewey Avenue about 2 p.m. Monday was taken to the Erie County Medical Center for treatment of injuries, according to Michael J. DeGeorge, spokesman for the Buffalo Police Department.

The man, whose name was not released, was driving north on Main when his vehicle struck a tree and kept driving through shrubbery in the parking lot of Tony’s Ranch House until it crashed into a corner of the restaurant and damaged it. Officers at the scene said the driver may have suffered a medical issue that led to the crash and his hospitalization. No one else was injured.
