UB's Joanna Smith, Stephanie Reid make All-MAC women's hoop teams

University at Buffalo guard Joanna Smith earned first-team All-Mid-American Conference honors for women's basketball, the conference announced Monday.

Smith, a junior guard from Mississippi, ranked fourth in the conference in scoring at 18.0 ppg. She's UB's first first-team selection since Brittany Henderson in 2012.

UB sophomore guard Stephanie Reid earned third-team honors and also was selected to the all-defensive team. Reid, a 5-6 Australian, ranked second on the Bulls team and 30th in the MAC in scoring at 10.3 ppg. She was fourth in assists at 4.8 a game and fourth in steals at 1.9.

Smith was one of the most improved players in the MAC. She averaged 5.6 ppg as a sophomore last season. She ranks third in the MAC in three-pointers made with 85 and has had 14 games of 20 or more points.
