Waterline construction to resume on South Transit Road

LOCKPORT – Waterline replacement work on South Transit Road is to resume this week, with the new line to be connected at South Transit and Robinson roads, eastern Niagara County’s busiest intersection, during the next two weeks.

The announcement from Wendel, the engineering firm overseeing the work, said water customers near the intersection will be given specific advance notice of water service shutdowns connected to the work.

Individual service changeovers for properties north of Rapids Road are expected to begin in late March, Lauren Glose of Wendel said.

Mar-Wal Construction Co. of Depew has a $2.54 million contract for the new 10-inch main along South Transit, on which work began last summer.
