HOW NOW, COW? – “We’ll Pay You $5 to Meet a Cow.” That’s the offer Asha Sanctuary, a shelter at 2969 Coomer Road, Newfane, starts making Monday in a poster campaign on buses in the Buffalo area.

According to shelter officials, a donor will give $5 to every first-time visitor to the sanctuary who meets “Albert the Cow” between April 17 and 23. The donor also will give an additional $5 per person to the sanctuary.

The sanctuary also provides a home for a pig, donkeys, a goat and many chickens. For more info and to register, visit meetacow.com.

DESIGNS FOR LIVING – Architecture and design will be the topics of discussion at the weekly IMAGINE Buffalo lunchtime lecture series Tuesday in the Ring of Knowledge on the main floor of the Central Library on Lafayette Square in downtown Buffalo. The program begins at noon and includes Great Courses videos on Impressionist painters Vincent Van Gogh and Henri Toulouse-Lautrec.

The program is offered in conjunction with the Albright-Knox Art Gallery exhibit, “Monet and the Impressionist Revolution, 1860-1910,” which closes March 20.

Admission is free. You can bring a lunch or purchase one at the library’s Fables Cafe. The series is sponsored by the Center for the Study of Art, Architecture, History & Nature.

LUNCH DATE – The Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, 4369 S. Buffalo St., Orchard Park, kicks off the spring season for its Let’s Do Lunch series with a St. Patrick’s Day celebration at 11:30 a.m. on March 17. Following corned beef and cabbage, there will be a magic show featuring Glenn Begert. Tickets are $10. All are welcome. Reservations must be made by Thursday. Call 662-9348.

RADIO DAYS – Retired radio host Dan Neaverth will be the guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the Women’s Club of Orchard Park at noon Wednesday in the Orchard Park Municipal Center, 4295 S. Buffalo St. His topic? “The History of Buffalo Radio.” Prospective new members are welcome. A board meeting at 10:30 a.m. will precede the program.

Meanwhile, the club is accepting applications for its scholarship program. Applicants must be women 25 or older, living in Orchard Park or surrounding towns, who are enrolled in an accredited college, university or vocational training program. Applications can be obtained by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to Scholarship Committee, c/o Judith Horan, 70-5 Carriage Drive, Orchard Park, NY 14127. Deadline is April 15.
