The season is on the line Sunday night for Canisius and Niagara as the teams meet in the decisive Game Three of the first round of the Atlantic Hockey playoffs.
After the Purple Eagles won the opening game, 3-2, on Friday Canisius responded with a 1-0 win on Saturday. Both goaltenders -- junior Jackson Teichroeb for Niagara and freshman Simon Hofley for Canisius -- have played strong.
The winner advances to the quarterfinal round, another best-of-three series. But the winner's opponent is yet to be determined as the other two Atlantic Hockey first round series are also going to decisive third games -- Sacred Heart at Bentley and American International at Army. The conference reseeds after each round.
