Lockport offers emergency preparedness workshop

LOCKPORT – The City of Lockport is sponsoring a free informational American Red Cross program of Citizen Preparedness Corps training on what do when a disaster strikes at 6 p.m. Wednesday in City Hall, 1 Locks Plaza.

A speaker from the Red Cross will conduct a 60- to 90-minute session of the training program on how to prepare for, respond to and recover from natural and man-made disasters. There will be refreshments and a limited amount of prizes for those who attend. No advance registration is needed. More information is available by calling city building inspector Clayton Dimmick at 439-6753.

Because of this session, the Common Council’s Wednesday work session will begin at 5 p.m. instead of 5:30 and will be held in the City Hall conference room instead of in the Council Chambers.
