Democrats would obstruct nominee from GOP leader
I wonder if the Democrats calling for Senate Republicans to hold hearings on any nominee of President Obama to fill the Antonin Scalia vacancy would be of the same thought process if this were George W. Bush’s final year in office and the deceased justice was Ruth Bader Ginsburg or Stephen Breyer?
Similarly, Democrats were strangely quiet when both David Souter and John Paul Stevens held off their retirements until after the 2008 election. I recall Souter specifically saying that he would not allow Bush to fill his seat.
Sorry, but I don’t buy the Democrats’ sudden appeals to adhere to a constitutional process.
