3 injured, dog killed in Niagara Falls house fire

NIAGARA FALLS – Three residents of a Portage Road home were treated for smoke inhalation and their family dog was killed in a fire late Friday night.

The Niagara Falls Fire Department said the blaze started in the first-floor kitchen of a 2 1/2-story brick home at 415 Portage Road. The alarm was received at 10:40 p.m.

The dog was believed to have died of smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage was estimated at $120,000.
