A major drug bust has led to the arrest of two retail dealers with alleged ties to the drug ring.
Oliver Kimmons, 48, and Kathlyn Ventura, 24, both of Lockport, are charged with distributing heroin and crack cocaine.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan A. Tokash said the defendants are tied to a larger narcotics conspiracy broken up last August with the indictment of five suspected drug dealers here and in California.
During the arrests last year, investigators seized 140 pounds of drugs, including heroin, cocaine and fentanyl, from a home on Folger Street. They estimated the street value at about $3.5 million.
Kimmons and Ventura were ordered detained by U.S. Magistrate Judge H. Kenneth Schroeder Jr. until a hearing next week. Their arrests are the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Lockport Police and the Niagara County Drug Task Force.
