Alex Kostka to play intimate set at Allen Street Hardware

While Allen Street Hardware (245 Allen St.) sorts out its dance permit, back room fans can at least take solace in knowing that while the versatile space may be on a quiet side for the near future, it won't be completely dark. On March 6, Midwest musician Alex Kostka and a band of area folkies will nestle into the restaurant's intimate performance space.

The introspective songwriter is currently on the first leg of a nearly monthlong trek of the Northeast. Before a tour kickoff show in his home base of Michigan, Kostka recently filmed an installment for "Cozy Couch Sessions," a stripped-down video series that has played host to acts like Beach Slang, Petal and even Buffalo's own the Traditional since its 2014 inception.

Rounding out the showcase will be NPR Tiny Desk Contest hopefuls the Observers, Tapered Creek's William Joseph and Oats-Holy-Roller, the new lo-fi project from Mr. Boneless guitar player Joseph Murray Myers.

Music begins at 9 p.m. with a cover of $5. Further event details can be found here.
