A 51-year-old Orchard Park woman was arrested by Orchard Park and Town of Hamburg police late Wednesday for allegedly driving with a 0.29 percent blood-alcohol level and fleeing from a two-vehicle crash on Big Tree Road.
Corrine Gallagher was charged with causing the Orchard Park accident injury after Hamburg police found her. Orchard Park Police reported she had fled on foot from the crash scene near the Orchard Park-Hamburg town line about 10:10 P.M.
Gallagher was arrested for driving while intoxicated for having a blood-alcohol level over three and one-half times the state’s legal limit, leaving the scene of an injury-linked accident, following too closely on the road, failing to wear a seat belt and refusing to take a breath test at the crash scene. Taken to Orchard Park Police headquarters she registered there the high blood-alcohol level.
She was released after being ordered to appear in Orchard Park Town Court in two weeks.
The driver of the other car involved in the accident was treated at the Mercy Ambulatory Care Center on Southwestern Boulevard for a back injury.
