Sarah Linn of Olean took home the regional champion title in the Intermediate II Western Horsemanship Class for Morrisville State in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone 2 Region 3 championship on Sunday in Morrisville. Linn advanced to the IHSA National Semifinals in Findlay, Ohio on March 19-20.

BASKETBALL: Full Court Hoops girls AAU basketball tryouts will take place Sunday at St. Mary’s School for the Deaf (2253 Main St., Buffalo) from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for girls in grades 9-11. Email Cara Gustafson at ... Buffalo Storm AAU basketball will have tryouts for boys and girls on Saturday at St. Mary’s of Lancaster and Monday at Daemen College. Tryouts Saturday for grades 5-7 are from 4-5 p.m. and grades 8-11 from 5-6 p.m. Tryouts Monday for grades 5-7 are from 6:30-7:30 p.m.; grades 8-11 go from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Mark Coppola, a four-year starter at Daemen, and Mariah Norris, a two-year starter at Buffalo State, will be coaching teams. Visit ... The Eldredge Bicycle Club will be holding a Men’s Four on Four Basketball Tournament beginning the week of April 11. The tournament will have the following divisions: Open A, Open B, 40 & Over, 50 & Over and 60 & Over. All leagues utilize a double elimination format. FOOTBALL: SUNY College at Morrisville head football coach Curt Fitzpatrick will be the featured clinician for the Western New York Football Coaches Association meeting Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Elks Lodge, 33 Legion Pkwy., Lancaster. The Lockport Thunder are a brand new first year team in the SIF Supreme Indoor Football League. There are 10 other teams in the SIF including Buffalo, Cleveland, Erie, Reading, Cincinnati, Kentucky and Maryland. The team will be holding an open tryout for all interested athletes Saturday at 9 p.m. at the Sahlen’s Sports Center (7070 Seneca St., Elma, 14059). Registration fee is $40. Players should arrive by 8:45 p.m. to fill out an information sheet.

GOLF: Grover Cleveland Ladies Golf League sends an open invitation to join their Thursday morning 9-Hole league. Grover Cleveland Golf Course is located on Main Street at Bailey Avenue. Call Pat Horohoe at 984-0709.

HOCKEY: The 41st annual Dippin’ Dots Spring Hockey League is accepting applications for the upcoming spring/summer league at Holiday Twin and Leisure Rinks.
