UB medley relay team sets school mark

The University at Buffalo 200-yard medley relay team set a school and pool record in winning the opening event of the Mid-American Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti.

The UB quartet of sophomore Hudson Carroll, sophomore Itai De La Vega, freshman Mason Miller and junior Aaron Durrence won in 1:27.47. Missouri State was second in 1:27.89.

In the other event on opening night, the Bulls’ 800-yard freestyle relay of junior Martin Leigh, senior Antonio Lanzi, junior Eric Jensen and senior Billy Patrum was fourth in 6:33.89. Eastern Michigan won in 6:25.55 and seized the team scoring lead with 72 points. UB is second with 70.
