LOCKPORT – A Canadian woman who allegedly tried to bring nearly an ounce of cocaine into the U.S. was arraigned Wednesday in State Supreme Court.

Ann Marie F. Stephenson, 36, of Ajax, Ont., pleaded not guilty to two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Assistant District Attorney Laura T. Bittner said Border Patrol agents searched Stephenson’s vehicle June 20 at the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls and allegedly found 0.95 ounces of cocaine. Stephenson was reportedly en route to Seneca Niagara Casino at the time.
